Senior Quantity Surveyor

OCS are currently working with a highly respected construction business that has been established for over 30 years and has built an excellent reputation across the groundworks, civil engineering and reinforced concrete frame sectors. With a strong pipeline of secured projects and continued expansion, they are looking to strengthen their commercial team with an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor who can take ownership of projects and play a key role in their continued growth. The Role As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for your projects from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with the operational and commercial teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully and profitably. * Managing the commercial performance of projects from start through to completion * Subcontract procurement, tendering and negotiation * Cost reporting, forecasting and cash flow management * Preparing and reviewing valuations, applications and payment notices * Managing variations, change control and contractual notices * Subcontractor account management * Reviewing project costs and identifying commercial opportunities * Cost/value reconciliation and monthly reporting * Supporting project teams with commercial and contractual advice * Final accounts and commercial close-out * Working closely with senior management on project strategy and commercial performance * Supporting the continued growth and development of the commercial team Ideally, you will have: * Significant Quantity Surveying experience within groundworks, RC frame, civil engineering or concrete frame * Strong subcontractor and procurement experience * Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge * Experience managing projects from procurement through to final account * The ability to take ownership of multiple commercial packages * Strong negotiation and communication skills * A commercially focused and proactive approach * Experience working alongside operational and project teams * Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent experience Why Consider This Opportunity? * This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to join a business with a strong order book and multiple schemes secured. * You will be joining an established company with a strong track record across major construction projects, while having the opportunity to take genuine ownership of your commercial responsibilities and work closely with senior management
