TeacherActive is seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to provide supply cover across a variety of inclusive primary schools in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. This supply role offers excellent flexibility and the opportunity to build lasting relationships with local schools. Day-to-day assignments may also develop into longer-term placements when suitable opportunities arise.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEN
Assist pupils in accessing lessons and the UK curriculum
Support children with emotional regulation and social development
Adapt activities to meet individual learning needs
Promote positive behaviour and foster an inclusive classroom environment
Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff
Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, and allergy procedures
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:
Experience supporting children with SEN
Previous work within a UK school or educational setting
Sound understanding of the UK curriculum
A patient, caring and adaptable approach
Strong knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities
Awareness of allergies and Benedict’s Law
An Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service
Two suitable references covering the last six months
