SEND Tutor - Wigan
Location: Wigan
Hours: 5-15 hours per week
Start Date: September 2026
Duration: Ongoing
Prospero Teaching are seeking a committed and empathetic SEND Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 tuition to a learner in Wigan.
This role would suit an educator who can create a calm and supportive learning environment, adapt sessions to individual needs and help the learner develop both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 tuition
Plan sessions around the learner's individual needs
Adapt teaching methods and resources
Encourage positive engagement with education
Build confidence, independence and learning routines
Monitor progress and provide feedback
Requirements
Experience working with children or young people
Previous experience supporting learners with SEND
Patient, flexible and encouraging approach
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Teaching qualification or relevant tutoring experience desirable
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
Right to Work in the UK
Two professional child-related references
