Site Supervisor - Highways & Roundabout Scheme Location: Wells, Somerset Start Date: ASAP Duration: Until February 2027 minimum Rate: £425-£525 per shift Shift Pattern: Days The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Supervisor to join a major highways project in Wells, Somerset, working for a leading Tier 1 contractor. The project involves the construction of a new roundabout and associated road infrastructure, providing an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile civil engineering scheme with work secured through to February 2027 at a minimum. We are looking for a proactive and experienced supervisor who can take responsibility for the day-to-day coordination of site activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with the project programme. The Role As Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for: - Supervising day-to-day highways and civil engineering works on site - Managing and coordinating site teams, subcontractors and plant - Overseeing the construction of the new roundabout and associated roadworks - Ensuring works are completed safely, to programme and to the required quality standards - Monitoring site activities and ensuring works are carried out in accordance with RAMS - Liaising with Site Agents, Engineers, subcontractors and the wider project team - Conducting toolbox talks, briefings and daily site coordination - Monitoring progress and reporting any issues or delays to the management team - Ensuring all health, safety, environmental and quality procedures are followed - Maintaining accurate site records and ensuring works are completed to specification Requirements The successful candidate will have: - Proven experience as a Site Supervisor within highways/civil engineering - Experience working on highways, road construction, roundabouts or associated infrastructure - Minimum Gold CSCS card - SSSTS qualification - essential - Strong knowledge of health & safety requirements and RAMS - Ability to effectively manage site teams and subcontractors - Good communication and organisational skills Previous experience working for a Tier 1 contractor would be highly advantageous If interested, please apply with your CV or contact Martha on (phone number removed) or at (url removed)
