This position offers a competitive day rate of £320 per shift plus expenses for a qualified professional to inspect and assess fire door compliance. Role Overview * Job Title: FRA Fire Door Surveyor * Location: Harlow (with local travel as required) * Rate: £320 per shift + business-related expenses * Position Type: Contract / Ongoing project * Start Date: Immediate or short notice Key Responsibilities * Carry out comprehensive Fire Risk Assessments (FRA) specifically focused on fire doors. * Inspect fire door frames, panels, hardware, intumescent seals, and gaps to ensure compliance with current UK fire safety regulations. * Utilize digital handheld devices or specific compliance software to record survey data and upload detailed reports. * Identify defects, non-compliance issues, and clearly prescribe required remedial actions (e.g., repairs or full replacements). Requirements & Qualifications * Experience: Proven track record working as a Fire Door Surveyor or FRA Inspector. * Qualifications: Recognized industry qualification in fire door inspection (e.g., FDIS, BM TRADA, or FireQual accreditation). * Knowledge: Thorough, up-to-date knowledge of UK Fire Safety legislation and British Standards (such as BS 8214). * Tools: Full UK driving licence, own transport, and standard surveying tools/PPE.
