Job Description
Senior NodeJS Backend Developer required by a a growing SaaS software business, working as part of a fast-moving product and engineering team.
The role will focus on the design and development of scalable backend services using NodeJS and TypeScript, with the opportunity to take ownership of features from initial design through to production.
Rather than simply working through development tickets, they are looking for someone who is comfortable taking responsibility for delivery and contributing ideas around how backend systems and development practices can be improved.
Key responsibilities will include:
Designing and developing scalable server-side applications using NodeJS and TypeScript
Taking backend features from design through to production-ready delivery
Building and maintaining microservices
Writing unit and integration tests to maintain software quality and reliability
Working within established development, documentation and deployment processes
Contributing to improvements across coding standards and engineering practices
Working collaboratively as part of an Agile software development team
Key experience required:
Commercial server-side development experience
Strong NodeJS and TypeScript experience
Experience working with microservices architectures
Unit and integration testing experience
SQL and/or NoSQL database experience
An understanding of CI/CD principles
Experience with any of the following would also be beneficial:
NestJS
AWS or another cloud platform
Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ or NATS
gRPC
OAuth2 / AWS Cognito
This is a fully remote role and should suit a backend developer who enjoys working with modern technologies, taking ownership of their work and contributing within a collaborative product engineering environment.
