Quality Engineer-Perm-Oxfordshire -£45k-£55k
An established engineering and manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support manufacturing quality, inspection and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer -
* Manage manufacturing quality, non-conformances and customer complaints using 8D / 5 Whys.
* Interpret complex mechanical engineering drawings, including GD&T, and determine appropriate inspection methods.
* Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal manufacturing teams on quality issues.
* Produce inspection reports, quality documentation and control plans.
* Conduct internal, process and supplier audits.
* Support calibration and management of measurement and test equipment.
* Train operators in inspection techniques and equipment.
* Identify and implement improvements to quality and inspection processes.
Key requirements from the Quality Engineer -
* 5+ years' experience in a Quality Engineer or similar role.
* Mechanical engineering background/apprenticeship.
* Strong understanding of GD&T and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
* Experience with measurement equipment and producing inspection reports.
* Confident working with customers, suppliers and manufacturing teams.
* Good organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
* PC literate, including Microsoft Office.
Desirables -
* CMM programming, PC-DMIS, tactile/laser measurement systems and ISO 9001 auditing experience.
