SENCO - Two Secondary Schools | Hayes Location: Hayes Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-time Duration: Temporary / Permanent We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO to work across two secondary schools in Hayes. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic SEND professional to take a key leadership role and make a meaningful impact on the provision and outcomes for pupils with special educational needs. The successful SENCO will work closely with senior leaders, teachers, support staff, parents/carers and external agencies to ensure that pupils with SEND receive high-quality, appropriate support across both schools. Key responsibilities: Lead and coordinate SEND provision across two secondary schools Oversee the identification, assessment and support of pupils with SEND Develop and review EHCPs, SEND support plans and individual provision Work closely with teaching staff to ensure effective classroom strategies and reasonable adjustments Monitor pupil progress and evaluate the impact of SEND interventions Liaise with parents/carers and external professionals Coordinate referrals and work with local authorities and other agencies Support and advise staff on SEND strategies and best practice Ensure SEND policies and procedures are implemented effectively Contribute to whole-school improvement and safeguarding processes The ideal candidate: Has proven experience working as a SENCO within a secondary school setting Holds or is working towards the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO), where applicable Has strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current SEND procedures Has excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills Can build strong relationships with pupils, staff, parents/carers and external agencies Is proactive, committed and able to manage competing priorities across two settings Has a genuine passion for improving outcomes for pupils with SEND Why apply?
