Job Description
My client is a leading structures business in the UK and are commencing work on one of Londons largest ever projects on behalf of their client, a Tier 1 Contractor. I am looking for a Setting Out Engineer to join their team on a long term basis. My client will pay you as a self employed individual but they are looking for someone to make a career move and not for a few weeks work. The Project Iconic major project comprising of circa 1,000,000 sq ft of commercial and leisure space with the project set to run for minimum 5 years. Kings Cross, London. * Set out all structural elements including foundations, slabs, columns, walls, cores, and temporary works. * Interpret, check, and verify construction drawings, ensuring accuracy before works begin. * Establish and maintain control points, benchmarks, and site grids throughout the project. * Carry out as‑built surveys and produce accurate records for QA and client handover. * Coordinate with site management, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure works meet required tolerances. * Monitor progress against design information, flagging discrepancies early. * Support quality assurance processes, ensuring works are built correctly first time. * Maintain daily setting‑out logs, inspection sheets, and survey data. * Assist with planning and sequencing of reinforced concrete operations. * Ensure compliance with project specifications, temporary works requirements, and industry standards. Requirements * Minimum 4 years experience * Degree Qualified in Civil Engineering or Similar * Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer/Site Engineer * Must have worked for a big player in the Concrete/RC Frame Sector. My client will pay £27-£30ph and operate on a 55 hour working week. They will pay you directly as a self employed worker
