Senior Quantity Surveyor – Data Centre | Bristol £15m Design & Build Project | Bristol
We’re on the lookout for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who knows their way around a contract, can spot a commercial opportunity from a mile away, and isn’t afraid to get stuck in.
You’ll be joining a £15m data centre project, involving the refurbishment and expansion of an existing facility and the installation of major M&E infrastructure including chillers, generators, switchgear, UPS and CRAH units.
What you'll be doing
Taking the commercial lead on the project
Managing costs, forecasting, reporting and cash
Leading procurement and subcontract management
Managing change, variations and commercial risk
Protecting commercial interests and maximising project returns
Working closely with the project and site teams
Building strong relationships with clients and the supply chain
Supporting and mentoring junior commercial team members What we're looking for You'll need solid experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor, ideally within data centres, M&E, mission-critical or other complex construction environments.
You’ll also need:
Strong knowledge of construction contracts
Good commercial and contractual understanding
Experience with procurement and subcontract management
Strong negotiation and communication skills
The confidence to make decisions and take ownership
HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying is desirable
MRICS/MCIOB is preferred, but relevant experience matters too The opportunity A technically interesting £15m project, plenty of commercial responsibility, and the chance to make a real impact rather than simply shuffle spreadsheets.
