Construction Materials Technician

Construction Materials Technician - Cork (site based) We are currently seeking a Construction Material Technician to join our team at Breedon Surfacing Solutions. As a Construction Material Technician, you will be working close with our contract surfacing division & will be responsible for onsite testing of all our Bituminous product’s. More about what you will do… * To test and sample aggregate, bituminous and unbound and earthworks materials including material laying records, temperature checks & recording, compaction control testing with electrostatic density gauge, Rolling Straight edge testing, Surface Macrotexture testing (sandpatch), binder content and grading, both in the laboratory and on contracting sites/plant. * To maintain a safe and tidy workspace and keep all equipment maintained * To maintain quality standards by following Company and accrediting bodies quality procedures and protocol. * To record sample details on test record sheets and electronic software programmes. * To assist with the calibrating of all testing equipment. * To prepare for inspections from independent accrediting bodies * To undertake daily equipment checks * To provide technical cover if required for other contracts within the Southern parts of Ireland.
