Workshop Controller Location: Avonmouth Salary: Circa £36,000 per annum Hours: 45 hours per week Shift: Monday to Friday – Day Shift Job Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role We are looking for an experienced and organised Workshop Controller to join our team in Avonmouth. You will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day workshop and fleet maintenance operation, ensuring vehicles are maintained safely, efficiently and in line with compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities * Plan and schedule planned maintenance, servicing, inspections and repairs. * Allocate work to Workshop and Mobile Technicians. * Monitor workshop workload, productivity and repair progress. * Coordinate vehicle defects, breakdowns and recovery where required. * Manage vehicle VOR (Vehicle Off Road) activity and minimise downtime. * Ensure PMIs, MOT preparations and statutory inspections are completed on time. * Maintain accurate workshop and fleet records and ensure compliance with DVSA and Operator Licence requirements. * Source parts and liaise with suppliers to ensure repairs are completed efficiently. * Monitor maintenance costs and support cost-control initiatives. * Produce daily workshop, fleet availability and maintenance reports. * Communicate repair progress and vehicle availability to operational teams and customers. * Promote a strong health & safety and compliance culture within the workshop. About You * Previous experience in a workshop, fleet maintenance or transport environment. * Strong planning and organisational skills. * Good understanding of commercial vehicle maintenance. * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. * Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office. * Knowledge of fleet compliance and roadworthiness requirements. * Full UK Driving Licence
