Job Description
A global manufacturing engineering business requires a SAP Materials Planner to drive production and materials planning efficiencies and ensure inventory optimisation. Applicants should have deep supply chain planning experience in SAP MRP, particularly production planning (PP) and materials management (MM) modules, be accustomed to managing master data and the demands of a production manufacturing environment. Working within the Materials & Supply Chain function, the SAP Materials Planner will serve as a link between demand, supply, customer service and production to ensure master data is accurate and consistent to ensure inventory is optimised and material availability to meet production demands. Specific duties of the SAP Materials Planner include: Own and maintain SAP MRP process Ensure all material master records BOMs and work centre data are accurate Analyse SAP-generated demand and supply proposals, adjusting plans to align with production schedules and lead times Collaborate with procurement to convert planned orders into purchase orders Collaborate with production teams to align material availability with production schedules Monitor inventory levels in SAP identifying material shortages/excesses Optimise planning parameters (lot sizes, safety stock, reorder points) in SAP MRP Support continuous improvement activities around production and materials planning, MRP and master data governance SAP Materials Planner applicants should meet the following criteria: Production Planning, Materials Planning or Inventory Planning experience Deep expertise in SAP MRP, particularly production planning (PP) and materials management (MM) modules Strong understanding of SAP reporting tools and transactions Experience in managing master data (material master, vendor master, BOMs, routing data) Data analysis and problem-solving skills Interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
