Job Description
Due to expansion our client in Somercotes is looking for Operative's to join their facility on a temp to perm basis working on a 3 Shift Rotation Duties will be working within a department performing manual handling, quality checking and may incolve heavy lifting. Rotating 3-shift system • Days • Afternoons • Nights (Flexibility to work overtime where required.) Job Purpose This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and are committed to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity. Key Responsibilities • Operate machinery safely and efficiently. • Set up machines in accordance with production specifications. • Monitor quality • Carry out routine quality inspections and record production data as required. • Identify faults, defects, or machine issues and report them promptly. • Ensure production targets and delivery schedules are achieved. • Perform basic machine housekeeping and cleaning duties. • Work in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures and risk assessments. • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area. • Assist colleagues and support other departments when required. • Follow all standard operating procedures and work instructions. Skills & Experience Essential • Good attendance and punctuality record. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Strong attention to detail and quality standards. • Good communication skills. • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. • Willingness to work rotating shifts. Desirable not necessary • Previous experience within textile manufacturing or finishing operations. • Experience operating brushing, stenter, sueding, coating, or related textile machinery. • Understanding of quality control procedures. • Forklift Truck Licence (advantageous but not essential). Physical Requirements The role involves: • Standing for extended periods. • Manual handling activities. • Working in a manufacturing environment. • Adhering to PPE requirements at all times.
