Junior HR Advisor – Employee Relations
Location: Hybrid - Lichfield
Department: Human Resources
Reporting to: Senior HR Advisor
About the Role
We’re looking for a proactive and organised Junior HR Advisor – Employee Relations to join our HR team. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your HR career while gaining hands-on experience across a wide range of employee relations matters.
You’ll play a key role in supporting managers, coordinating HR activity, and managing lower-level ER cases, ensuring a consistent and compliant approach in line with company policy and employment law.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the HR inbox, prioritising queries and directing cases appropriately across the HR team
Prepare and issue daily staff reports and HR case updates
Act as a point of contact for managers, providing guidance on:
Disciplinary and grievance matters
Absence management (short and long-term)
Performance and probation reviews
Flexible working requests
Manage lower-level employee relations cases from start to finish
Support managers with absence processes, including Occupational Health referrals where appropriate
Flag high-risk or safeguarding concerns to senior HR colleagues
Take minutes and support formal HR meetings
Prepare documentation including investigation packs, invite letters, and outcome letters
Maintain accurate HR records and update case management systems
Support DBS processes, including referrals and risk assessments
Assist with HR reporting, projects, and training delivery
Keep up to date with employment legislation and HR best practice
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:

Confident communicating with managers and colleagues
Able to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
Proactive and keen to learn in a fast-paced environment
What You’ll Bring
Previous HR or administrative experience (ideally within an HR environment)
Understanding of employee relations processes (desirable)
Strong IT skills and ability to use HR systems
Knowledge of UK employment law (basic understanding desirable)
CIPD Level 3 (or working towards) is advantageous
