Postgraduate Administrator Full time |  37.5 hours per week  |  Cambridge The role A well-established Cambridge college is looking for a Postgraduate Administrator. This is a varied, people-facing role at the heart of college life, supporting postgraduate students from the moment they apply right through to graduation. You'll be the go-to person for postgraduate students on all things administrative and financial, working closely with Tutors and teams across the college including Health & Wellbeing, Finance and Accommodation. No two days will look the same: one moment you might be processing admissions applications, the next you could be advising a student on visa requirements, preparing papers for a scholarship committee, or helping organise a graduation ceremony. It's a role that combines process and people. You'll need to be comfortable with detailed administrative and financial work, while also being a warm, reliable point of contact for students who may be navigating an unfamiliar system for the first time. What you'll be doing Admissions and matriculation – processing applications, liaising with the Postgraduate Admissions Office and other bodies, keeping records accurate, and helping organise events such as the college's Postgraduate Open Day and ceremonies Visa and immigration compliance – acting as the lead on visa and immigration matters for students, working alongside the International Student Office Student support – being the first point of contact for postgraduate queries, providing letters and information, and helping organise academic and social events Finance – maintaining funding portals and spreadsheets, processing scholarship and grant applications, liaising with external funding Student records – keeping databases up to date, maintaining secure student files, and liaising with Student Registry and other internal teams Committee and tutor support – acting as secretary for postgraduate-related committees, minute-taking, and providing general administrative support What we're looking for Excellent communication skills and a genuinely helpful, service-minded approach The ability to manage a varied workload independently, while also working well as part of a team Strong IT skills, including confidence with Outlook, Word, Excel and databases Financial literacy, with experience using spreadsheets to track income and expenditure Meticulous attention to detail and a methodical, organised approach The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately, in line with GDPR A genuine commitment to supporting students It would be an advantage, though not essential, if you have previous working experience within a college or university.
