Job Description
Plant Manager Location: Openshaw, Northwest Manchester, M18 Type: Permanent, Full-time Hours: 48hrs per week Mon-Fri (with the occasional Sat morning – 5 a year) Training: Full training provided with the role Salary: Up to and around £40k depending on individual experience Project Partners are now on the look out to speak with experienced Plant Operatives and Supervisors who are looking to move into a Plant Manager position working within the wholesale building materials industry. You may already be in a similar role but simply ready for change. Main duties: * Responsibility for your own Health and Safety and any visitors or contractors to your site. * Promoting and complying with, Company Health and Safety policies and procedures always. * Responsible for the accurate loading of vehicles at both the RMX plant and Wharf. * Responsibility for the accurate production of Ready-mix products. * Organizing the timely delivery of raw materials. * Completing weekly and monthly stock checks. * Controlling drivers, visitors, collect and cash customers coming onto site, projecting a professional image and ensuring that site rules are always complied with. * Defect Reporting. Working with management and contractors to control and organize plant maintenance as required. * General housekeeping and site improvements. * Enforcing environmental policies and procedures (14001) and keeping records up to date. * Updating and monitoring records within the PACS system. * A flexible and positive attitude to working times in line with business requirements is essential. Experience and Qualifications required: * The successful candidate should be self-motivated, responsible and have excellent inter-personal skills. * Flexibility and initiative are essential for this demanding and rewarding position. * A good level of physical fitness. * A basic understanding of batching/weighbridge systems would be desirable. * Good communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with customers and suppliers. * Commitment to Health, Safety and Environmental standards. * Previous experience in concrete/mortar production would be beneficial. * Full driving license * An NVQ mobile plant qualification would be desirable but not essential as full training will be given
