£75,000 – £80,000 per annum
Monday to Friday - 9:00am – 5:00pm
25 days’ annual leave + public bank holidays
Based on site at West Thurrock
Pin Point Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established chemical manufacturing organisation at its West Thurrock site.
This is a key engineering position, acting as the group focal point for mechanical engineering and supporting the safe, reliable and efficient operation of plant and equipment. The role will cover a broad range of mechanical equipment, including pipework, pressure vessels, rotating equipment, heat exchangers, boilers and air compressors.
The successful candidate will ideally have senior mechanical engineering experience within Chemical, Oil & Gas or a similar Upper Tier COMAH environment, together with experience of mechanical integrity, reliability engineering and delivering large-scale capital projects.
The Role
* Lead mechanical engineering activities across the West Thurrock site and provide support across the wider UK group.
* Provide technical expertise across mechanical equipment, piping and plant modifications.
* Support the design, installation and commissioning of new equipment and engineering projects.
* Work closely with maintenance and inspection teams to improve plant reliability and equipment performance.
* Develop and improve mechanical engineering standards, specifications and procedures.
* Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and provide technical solutions to production and maintenance teams.
* Support capital projects from initial scoping through to delivery, including contractor management.
* Carry out risk assessments, root cause analysis and reliability studies.
* Participate in MOCs, HAZOPs and other safety studies.
* Ensure engineering activities meet health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
* Drive continuous improvement and improvements in plant performance and energy efficiency.
About You
* Proven senior mechanical engineering experience within Chemical, Oil & Gas or a similar Upper Tier COMAH environment.
* Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, pressure vessels, pumps, heat exchangers, piping systems and utilities.
* Experience with mechanical integrity, reliability engineering and maintenance best practice.
* Experience delivering multimillion-pound capital engineering projects.
* A Mechanical Engineering degree; Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership would be advantageous.
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication and project management skills.
* The ability to influence and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
* A strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
