ICT Network Engineer
Location: Gloucestershire | Hybrid Working
Salary: Up to £47,000
Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, with participation in an out-of-hours/on-call rota
Our client, a leading organisation, is hiring a Voice & Network Engineer to support and maintain critical voice and network infrastructure.
This is a hands-on technical position with a strong emphasis on voice technologies, alongside responsibility for wider LAN/WAN networking. You'll troubleshoot issues, maintain infrastructure and support the installation and configuration of hardware and software across a complex environment.
What you'll do
Support and maintain voice and network infrastructure, with a particular focus on voice technologies
Configure, install and maintain network hardware and software
Investigate, diagnose and resolve network and voice-related incidents within agreed SLAs
Support Cisco CUCM, UCCE, Microsoft Teams and SIP environments
Monitor network performance using tools including SolarWinds
Carry out network surveys and establish connectivity requirements
Support system backups, restoration and routine network administration
Maintain accurate configuration records following hardware and software changes
Work with colleagues, users and third-party suppliers to resolve technical issues
Participate in an out-of-hours/on-call rota, typically around one week in four You'll work closely with technical teams, end users and external suppliers to maintain reliable services and make effective use of the organisation's network infrastructure.
What we're looking for
Strong experience with Cisco CUCM and UCCE
Good knowledge of Microsoft Teams and SIP
Proven voice networking experience
Wider networking experience, including LAN/WAN
Experience using SolarWinds
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders Experience with Cisco LAN/WAN, Cisco or Check Point/Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco ISE, MAB/802.1X and Cisco Wi-Fi would be advantageous.
The ideal candidate will be collaborative, analytical and comfortable taking ownership of technical issues. You'll be able to remain effective under pressure and adapt as priorities and technologies change.
