Job Description
Contracts Manager
Competitive salary + benefits | Permanent | Scotland
A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager to join an established and growing construction business with an exciting portfolio of projects across Scotland.
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established construction contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality commercial construction, refurbishment and fit-out projects for a range of established clients.
As the business continues to grow, they are looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to play a key role in the successful delivery of multiple projects.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on role for a Contracts Manager who enjoys being involved in the detail of project delivery, while also taking a strategic view of programme, commercial performance and client relationships.
You will oversee projects from pre-construction through to completion, working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, subcontractors, clients and consultants to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, to budget and to the highest standards.
The role will primarily be based in Scotland, with occasional travel and overnight stays required — typically around one day per week working away from home.
Key Responsibilities
Manage multiple construction projects from pre-construction through to completion
Take overall responsibility for project delivery, programme and performance
Provide leadership and support to Project and Site Management teams
Manage client relationships and act as a key point of contact throughout projects
Monitor project programmes, budgets and commercial performance
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and other project stakeholders
Identify and manage project risks, challenges and opportunities
Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contractual requirements
Maintain high standards of health & safety, quality and environmental compliance
Attend site and project meetings as required
Monitor progress and provide regular updates to senior management
Support the successful handover and completion of projects
About You
We're looking for an experienced Contracts Manager with a strong background in commercial construction.
You'll ideally have:
Proven experience working as a Contracts Manager within the construction industry
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts and project delivery
Excellent commercial and financial awareness
Strong leadership and communication skills
The ability to build positive relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal teams
A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach
Relevant construction qualifications
SMSTS and appropriate health & safety qualifications
A full UK driving licence
What's on Offer?
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor with an impressive portfolio of work and ambitious plans for the future.
You'll have the autonomy to manage projects, work alongside an experienced team and make a genuine impact on project performance and client satisfaction.
Importantly, this role offers a good balance between site-based project management and home life, with travel away from home generally limited to around one day per week.
If you're an experienced Contracts Manager looking for a new challenge with a respected construction business and a strong project portfolio, I'd be keen to hear from you.
