About the Company
The business is an established Freight Forwarding provider operating within the UK and international markets. They provide a range of freight and supply chain solutions to customers worldwide.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Freight Forwarding professional to join a busy Gateway team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the movement of consignments, supporting customers and suppliers, maintaining customs compliance and ensuring all operational activities are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
The role is full time and will operate on a shift pattern in line with the requirements of the business.

Previous experience working within the Freight Forwarding industry
Experience of Gateway or Consolidation operations advantageous
Experience working with airline transportation advantageous
Good knowledge and understanding of import and export procedures
Knowledge of DfT, CAA, HMRC and IATA regulations
Good understanding of freight industry security procedures
Experience working within a fast-paced logistics environment
Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Systematic and methodical approach to work
Ability to manage a varied workload and meet strict deadlines
Self-motivated, enthusiastic and professional approach
Commitment to continuous professional development Gateway Coordinator - Responsibilities
Coordinate vehicles collecting and delivering consignments from airlines within required timeframes
Manage the sequential flow of consignments arriving and departing, maintaining high levels of accuracy, safety and security
Ensure all daily work schedules are completed in line with approved procedures and deadlines
Raise records within the relevant customs systems and discharge T1s from overnight deliveries
Complete customs reporting as required
Ensure accurate data capture and upload information into the company's operating systems
Follow strict and time-sensitive SOPs and KPIs to ensure operational and regulatory compliance
Maintain professional and transparent relationships with customers and suppliers
Resolve queries raised by customers and suppliers promptly and effectively
Work closely with internal and external customers to deliver a high level of customer service
Complete internal and external rate reviews
Ensure invoicing, job costing, CIA, netting and milestones are updated within the required timeframes
Monitor and control operational costs
Ensure best-practice processes and procedures are consistently followed
Use relevant freight forwarding systems and Microsoft Office applications as required
Ensure company property is used correctly, safely and responsibly
Maintain effective communication with customers and suppliers to develop strong working relationships
Work collaboratively with colleagues and support the wider team
Complete all tasks accurately and within agreed deadlines
Contribute to continuous improvement and professional development
