Job Description
HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver / Electrician Assistant
Location: North Yorkshire
Client: NY Highways
We’re looking for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver with a valid CPC to join a highways team supporting street lighting and signage works across North Yorkshire.
This is a hands-on outdoor role, with the majority of the work involving excavation and groundworks rather than driving.
Duties
* Groundworks, excavation, reinstatement, tarmac and paving
* Install lighting columns and roadside assets
* Operate Class 2 LGVs and HIAB equipment
* Support electricians with basic underground and above-ground tasks
* Set up traffic management and maintain safe working practices
Requirements
* Full HGV/LGV Class 2 licence + valid CPC
* Experience in groundworks, utilities or excavation
* Knowledge of safe digging and underground services
* Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
* Strong safety awareness
HIAB training may be available for the right candidate.
Please note: This is not solely a driving role. The majority of the position involves manual excavation and groundworks, so candidates must be comfortable with significant physical work
