Role Overview
Are you an experienced HSEQ Manager / Health & Safety professional with a background in steelwork / fabrication, engineering?
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality across an established engineering/fabrication business, with a broad role spanning compliance, auditing, accreditations, systems and day-to-day H&S.
You’ll be responsible for keeping the business compliant, continually improving its HSEQ standards and ensuring its management systems and industry accreditations remain robust and up to date.

* Office based, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm

HSEQ Manager Candidate Requirements
* An experienced HSEQ Manager professional with a background in structural steelwork, fabrication, engineering, construction, manufacturing or another safety-critical environment.
* NEBOSH Construction.
* Proven experience managing HSEQ systems, ISO standards and internal/external audits, ideally with Lead Auditor experience.
* Strong knowledge of EN1090-1 and CE/UKCA compliance, with RISQS/rail experience highly desirable.
* Experience maintaining contractor and supply-chain accreditations such as Achilles, Constructionline, Safe Contractor and UVDB.
* Ideally TechIOSH or above, with IEMA/environmental experience and/or a Level 5 occupational health & safety qualification being advantageous.
* A hands-on, confident and commercially aware communicator who can influence people at all levels and genuinely improve HSEQ standards — not simply manage paperwork from behind a desk.
HSEQ Manager Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)
You’ll take the lead on the company’s HSEQ function, including:
* Own the HSEQ function across the business, driving high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance.
* Lead and continually improve the Integrated Management System, ensuring policies, procedures, risk assessments and processes remain effective and compliant.
* Manage ISO, EN1090 and RISQS compliance, planning and coordinating audits while taking ownership of internal audit programmes and corrective actions.
* Maintain key industry accreditations including Achilles, Constructionline, SafeContractor, RISQS and UVDB, ensuring the business remains audit ready.
* Drive a positive safety culture, delivering toolbox talks, supporting training needs and introducing practical initiatives that improve behavioural HSEQ performance.
* Provide expert advice and support across the business, including incident investigations, human factors, change management and legislative compliance.
* Be a visible and influential HSEQ leader, working closely with employees and management while also supporting wider operational and office activities where required
