Health & Safety Manager required – permanent basis – Rail sector Location: London – Various site locations Salary: £60,000 – £80,000 depending on experience Job Type: Permanent We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading MEP sub-contractor operating within the rail sector, with a strong presence across HS2 projects in London. They are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced H&S professional with a strong construction background and previous experience working within a Tier 1 organisation, ideally across rail, tunnelling, power or utilities. The Role The successful candidate will be responsible for providing hands-on Health, Safety and Wellbeing support across HS2 projects, working closely with project teams, contractors and Principal Contractors. Key responsibilities will include: * Providing health, safety and wellbeing advice and guidance across live HS2 projects. * Carrying out regular site inspections, audits and compliance reviews. * Reviewing RAMS, Work Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets. * Supporting the investigation and close-out of accidents, incidents and safety observations. * Delivering and supporting toolbox talks, safety briefings and training. * Monitoring project H&S performance and ensuring actions are effectively followed through. * Attending project and Principal Contractor health and safety meetings. * Supporting project teams with the implementation of company and client H&S procedures. Requirements Essential: * Previous experience as a Health & Safety Manager within a Tier 1 organisation. * Previous experience within Rail, Power & Utilities and/or Tunnelling. * Strong construction industry knowledge. * Demonstrable understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation. * Understanding of electrical and mechanical standards. * Experience carrying out accident and incident investigations. * Working knowledge of ISO 45001. * NEBOSH Diploma or NCRQ Diploma. * Graduate Membership of IOSH. * CSCS card. * Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
