Job Description
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established Further Education college in Northamptonshire for an experienced Carpentry & Joinery Assessor to join their Construction Trades & Heritage team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced tradesperson or assessor to move into (or continue) a rewarding role assessing apprentices in the workplace, helping them progress towards competency-based qualifications and achieve their full potential. The Role: * Assess apprentices and learners against Carpentry & Joinery competency-based qualifications and apprenticeship standards * Carry out regular workplace visits to assess competence on-site * Conduct progress reviews with apprentices and employers at least every 12 weeks, setting SMART targets * Deliver 1-1 and group training sessions as required * Maintain accurate, up-to-date learner records via e-portfolio systems (e.g. OneFile) * Support apprentices through to End-Point Assessment (EPA) readiness * Liaise with employers, colleagues, and awarding bodies to support learner achievement * Contribute to quality assurance and IQA processes What We're Looking For: * Vocational qualification at Level 3 or above in Carpentry & Joinery, or equivalent industry experience * Assessors award (willing to work towards) * GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent) * Full, valid driving licence and access to a car * Strong communication, organisational, and IT skills * A positive, flexible approach and genuine enthusiasm for developing others Benefits: * Teachers' Pension Scheme * 38 days' holiday (inc. bank holidays) * Health cash plan * Enhanced maternity & paternity benefits * Free on-site parking * Cycle to Work scheme * Discounted on-site gym membership * 10% discount on college courses * Wellbeing programme + annual volunteering day Henry Blue is committed to safeguarding and compliance in the education sector
