Job Description
Shirley Parsons are supporting a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation in the defence sector to recruit a Quality Engineer to join a growing quality team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established engineering business delivering complex, high-integrity products for defence customers. The role will suit a quality professional with a strong background in mechanical engineering, aerospace, defence, precision engineering or other highly regulated engineering environments. Key responsibilities: * Support and maintain the ISO 9001 Quality Management System * Conduct internal audits and support compliance activities * Investigate non-conformances and drive corrective actions * Lead root cause analysis using tools such as 8D, 5 Whys and Ishikawa * Review quality documentation, inspection reports and technical records * Monitor quality KPIs and identify continuous improvement opportunities * Collaborate closely with manufacturing, engineering and inspection teams to drive quality standards and operational performance. What we're looking for: * Experience working within an Engineering environment * Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015 * Apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification would be advantageous. * Internal Auditor qualification desirable * Knowledge of root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T * Internal Auditor qualification desirable * Experience of high tolerances, complex components, and both metric and imperial measurement systems.
