Trainee Quantity Surveyor Location: Brierley Hill, West Midlands Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, office-based Type: Permanent We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and growing construction business based in Brierley Hill. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within quantity surveying and the wider construction industry. The successful candidate will receive continued training, support and development, with a clear pathway for career progression within the business. The Role Working from the company's Brierley Hill office five days a week, you will support the commercial team across a varied portfolio of construction projects, ranging from residential developments through to commercial projects. The role will provide exposure to a broad range of quantity surveying and commercial activities, alongside occasional visits to project sites. Your responsibilities will develop as your experience grows and may include: * Assisting with the preparation and management of project costs. * Supporting the preparation of tenders, quotations and estimates. * Assisting with valuations, variations and cost reporting. * Working with subcontractors and suppliers. * Supporting the commercial team with contract administration. * Monitoring project costs and budgets. * Attending occasional site visits. * Developing your knowledge of construction contracts, procurement and commercial management. * Working closely with colleagues, clients, subcontractors and suppliers. About You This position would suit a university graduate looking to begin a career in Quantity Surveying, or someone who has a genuine interest in construction and has 1–2 years' relevant experience. You will ideally have: * A degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related subject (although this is not essential for the right candidate). * Some previous experience within construction would be advantageous. * A genuine interest in developing a career within quantity surveying. * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. * Good numerical and organisational skills. * A proactive attitude and willingness to learn. * The ability to work effectively as part of a team. * A full UK driving licence – essential. * The willingness to work from the Brierley Hill office five days per week.
