Job Description
MMP are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our clients team in Surrey. This is a full-time, office-based position responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for temporary site service projects within the construction sector. Horley, Surrey Full-Time | On-Site Salary- £70000 The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and clients to develop detailed tender submissions and support projects from pre-contract stage through to handover. Key Responsibilities * Review technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements. * Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates and tender submissions. * Quantify labour, materials, plant, and equipment requirements. * Analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations. * Develop accurate cost breakdowns and pricing schedules. * Collaborate with project managers and engineers to clarify project scope and technical requirements. * Assess project risks and ensure estimates align with safety, compliance, and sustainability standards. * Support value engineering and cost control initiatives. * Maintain and update estimating databases, records, and pricing information. * Communicate with clients and internal stakeholders to refine proposals and support successful project delivery. Requirements * Proven experience in Electrical Estimating, including reading technical drawings and producing detailed cost proposals. * Strong understanding of cost control, budgeting, and commercial awareness within construction or electrical contracting environments. * Background in electrical contracting with practical knowledge of site installations and temporary power solutions. * Sound knowledge of electrical systems, industry regulations, standards, and health & safety requirements. * Qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience. * Proficiency in estimating software, Microsoft Excel, and other standard office applications. * Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. * High level of accuracy and attention to detail when working to deadlines. * Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, suppliers, and project teams. * Full UK work authorisation and the ability to work on-site in Horley. Desirable * Previous experience within construction site services, temporary works, or temporary power projects.
