Job Description
HGV Class 1 Driver – Temp to Perm – £18–£20 per Hour
Location: Chessington
Schedule: Monday to Friday, plus every other Saturday
Pay: £18.00 per hour | £20.00 overtime
Job type: Temporary to permanent
We are recruiting an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver (Cat C+E) to join our client’s busy and professional operation in Chessington.
This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity, with the potential to secure a permanent position following a successful 12-week trial period. You will be responsible for the safe and professional delivery of medicines as part of a dedicated transport team.
Pay and working hours
* Monday to Friday: 05:00–16:00
* Every other Saturday: 05:00 start, half-day shift
* Standard rate: £18.00 per hour – Advanced PAYE
* Overtime after 40 hours: £20.00 per hour
* Saturday shifts: £20.00 per hour
* Weekly pay throughout the 12-week trial period
Your responsibilities
* Safely and professionally deliver medicines
* Complete all required vehicle and delivery checks
* Keep your allocated vehicle clean and tidy
* Provide a reliable and professional service
* Work effectively with the transport team, customers and colleagues
* Represent the company positively at all times
Essential requirements
* Valid HGV Class 1 / Cat C+E licence
* Licence held for at least two years
* Minimum two years’ Class 1 driving experience
* Valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph card
* Good written and spoken English
* Reliable, punctual and presentable
* Comfortable working the scheduled hours and alternate Saturdays
* Flexible, professional and willing to support a busy operation
* Able to successfully complete the client’s driving assessment before starting
