Employment Lawyer (Locum) Location: Fully Remote Rate: £60-£65 per hour (DOE) Contract: Locum Start Date: ASAP (September preferred, October considered) Working Hours: 9:00am-5:00pm Employment Lawyer - Remote Local Authority Opportunity A Local Authority is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join its in-house legal team on a locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive and well-established legal service, providing expert employment law advice and assisting with a varied caseload during a period of increased demand. The successful candidate will join a small but highly regarded Employment Law team and will be expected to quickly become involved in a range of contentious and non-contentious matters. Key Responsibilities * Providing employment law advice to HR and management teams across the council. * Managing a broad caseload of employment law matters. * Handling Employment Tribunal claims from initial instruction through to conclusion. * Advising on disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management, and dismissal issues. * Supporting organisational change projects, restructures, and complex employee relations matters. * Delivering practical, commercially focused legal advice to senior stakeholders. About You To be considered for this position, you will: * Be a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive. * Have strong employment law experience. * Ideally possess experience gained within a Local Authority or wider public sector organisation. * Have experience managing Employment Tribunal matters independently. * Be confident advising HR professionals and senior management. * Be capable of working autonomously in a fully remote environment and managing a busy caseload.
