Job Description
SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Chatham Hours: Full-time Phase: KS1 & KS2 Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting pupils with additional needs? We are currently looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN TA to join a welcoming school in Chatham, supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, including non-verbal pupils. The successful candidate will ideally have experience as a behaviour specialist and be confident supporting children with a range of complex SEN needs. The Role Working 1:1 with pupils with additional and complex needs Supporting non-verbal pupils with communication and learning Working across both KS1 and KS2 Providing support with behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement Helping pupils access learning and develop their independence Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals Creating a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment The Ideal Candidate Previous experience working with pupils with SEN Experience supporting non-verbal children Strong behaviour management skills or experience as a behaviour specialist Confident working on a 1:1 basis Able to work effectively across KS1 and KS2 Patient, resilient, nurturing and adaptable Passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning Holds a fully Enhanced DBS, ideally on the Update Service, or is willing to apply for a new Enhanced DBS This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEN TA or behaviour specialist looking for a full-time role in Chatham, where you can make a real difference to pupils' lives and development.
