Job Description
We are recruiting for a Trainee Forge Stamper for a leading UK manufacturer of high-quality forged components to Power Generation, Oil and Gas and Nuclear applications. The Business are looking to recruit a new member of staff to join the forging team as the business continues to expand. The successful candidate will ideally have a background within a forging/ casting type environment however those with experience in press operation would also be considered. Proven experience and a strong awareness of hot metal forming processes would be advantageous The successful candidate will be competently trained to set and operate a 1T and 2T Drop Hammer within the forge. This is a physical role therefore interested candidates must be physically fit Hours – Mon – Thurs 0830 – 1630 / Friday (Apply online only) Role Overview You will operate multiple Massey 1-ton and 2-ton drop forging hammers, clipping presses, and associated forging equipment to produce high-integrity forged components to specification. Key Responsibilities * Operate Massey 1T & 2T drop hammers safely and efficiently * Set up tooling, dies, and workstations for production runs * Forge heated billets to required shapes and tolerances * Operate clipping/trimming presses to remove flash and finish forgings * Monitor forging quality and dimensional accuracy * Adjust hammer blows and positioning based on material behaviour and die fill * Perform routine checks and basic maintenance of machinery * Work in coordination with furnace operators, setters and inspectors * Follow production schedules and meet output targets * Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment * Comply with all health & safety and PPE requirements Desirable Experience * Proven experience operating drop forging hammers or power hammers * Experience in hot forging, stamping, or heavy press operation * Competent working with heated metal and forging die * Ability to operate multiple machines and maintain production flow * Overhead crane / slinging certification / FLT licence * Physically fit and comfortable working in a hot, noisy industrial environment * What We Offer * Competitive pay based on experience * Overtime (if applicable) * Job security within a long-established manufacturing business * Training and development opportunities * Pension scheme * Supportive team environment
