Job Description
MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER
My client are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their engineering team, supporting the design and development of hydraulic and pneumatic systems for a range of customer applications.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic solutions.
* Produce engineering drawings using CAD software.
* Create and review hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
* Perform basic engineering calculations to validate designs.
* Collaborate with engineering, workshop and operations teams to deliver successful projects.
* Ensure designs comply with health and safety standards and engineering best practice.
About You
Essential
* Degree in Mechanical or Fluid Power Engineering, or equivalent engineering experience
* Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic principles and schematics.
* Experience using CAD software.
* Ability to perform basic mechanical and hydraulic design calculations.
* Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and its practical application.
* Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
* Experience using SolidWorks.
* Practical engineering or manufacturing experience.
* Hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
* IOSH qualification.
Salary - Up to £50,000 DOE
