Job Description
We are currently supporting a specialist SEN provision in Ealing, London seeking an experienced English Teacher to join their team ASAP a Temp-to-permanent, term-time-only basis.
This is a rewarding opportunity for an English specialist to teach across KS2, KS3 and KS4, working with neurodiverse pupils with a range of needs, including ASC and SEMH.
The role will involve:
* Teaching English Language, English Literature and Literacy across KS2–KS4
* Planning and delivering creative, accessible and engaging lessons
* Supporting pupils to work towards Functional Skills, GCSE and other qualifications where appropriate
* Differentiating the curriculum to meet individual learning needs and EHCP targets
* Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, adapting teaching accordingly
* Leading on English and literacy priorities across the provision
* Supporting wider literacy development across the school
* Working closely with teaching, therapeutic and SEN teams
* Providing pastoral support and helping pupils with emotional regulation and challenging behaviour
The ideal candidate will:
* Hold QTS or QTLS with a specialism in English
* Have recent experience as a strong English teacher
* Have experience working with neurodiverse pupils, ASC and/or SEMH
* Be confident differentiating the National Curriculum across KS2–KS4
* Have a calm, patient and positive approach to behaviour and de-escalation
* Be passionate about improving literacy and educational outcomes for young people
* Be resilient, adaptable and able to work collaboratively within a specialist setting
