Stock Controller Location: M31 Hours: Full Time, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour Temp to Perm: Permanent opportunity following successful completion of 3 months Experience Required: 3+ years’ experience in stock control/inventory management About the Role We are currently recruiting for an experienced Stock Controller to join a busy warehouse operation in the M31 area. As Stock Controller, you will play a vital role in ensuring stock accuracy, maintaining inventory integrity and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the warehouse. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and organised individual looking for a long-term position, with the potential to become permanent after 3 months. Key Responsibilities * Monitor stock levels across the warehouse and storage facilities. * Maintain accurate stock records using the Warehouse Management System (WMS). * Carry out regular stock counts and investigate discrepancies. * Ensure all stock movements and transactions are recorded accurately and promptly. * Generate pick notes and relevant warehouse documentation. * Check incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes. * Investigate shortages, damages and over-deliveries. * Monitor batch numbers and dates where applicable, ensuring correct stock rotation using FIFO. * Manage returns, damaged stock and write-offs in line with company procedures. * Ensure warehouse and storage areas are tidy, clearly labelled and well organised. * Follow all warehouse health and safety procedures. * Assist with inventory reports and KPI reporting. * Maintain accurate product and inventory information within company systems. * Identify opportunities to improve stock accuracy and warehouse processes. * Provide stock records and supporting documentation for audits when required. * Work closely with warehouse, transport and planning teams to ensure efficient operations. About You The successful candidate will be: * Experienced in stock control/inventory management, with at least 3 years' relevant experience. * Numerically confident with strong attention to detail. * Flexible with a positive, can-do attitude. * Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment. * Confident working between the warehouse and office. Desirable Skills * Previous experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS). * Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. * Forklift licence, or willingness to obtain one. * Previous experience working within a busy warehouse/distribution environment.
