Voids Surveyor – Housing
Contract: 3-month rolling contract
Experience: 5 years
Role Overview
Experienced Voids Surveyor with 5 years' experience within housing repairs and property maintenance. Responsible for inspecting vacant properties, preparing specifications, monitoring works, and ensuring homes meet the required standard before re-letting.
Surveys & Specifications
*
Working as a Voids Surveyor, carrying out detailed inspections of vacant properties to identify repairs, maintenance, and improvement requirements.
*
Producing accurate specifications of works required to return properties to a suitable lettable standard.
*
Assessing property condition and identifying health, safety, compliance, and remedial requirements.
Site & Contractor Management
*
Carrying out site visits as a Voids Surveyor to monitor work in progress, contractor performance, quality, and compliance with agreed specifications.
*
Undertaking site safety inspections and raising any issues requiring corrective action.
*
Liaising with contractors and housing teams to monitor progress and ensure works are completed within agreed timescales.
Inspection & Quality Control
*
As a Voids Surveyor, completing snagging inspections to identify outstanding, defective, or incomplete works.
*
Conducting post-inspections to confirm completed works meet the required quality and housing standards.
*
Providing accurate inspection records and confirming properties are ready for handover and re-letting.
Key Skills
*
5 years' experience as a Voids Surveyor within social housing, repairs, maintenance, or property services.
*
Strong knowledge of void property inspections, contractor management, specifications, snagging, and post-inspections.
*
Experienced Voids Surveyor with strong attention to detail, communication skills, and knowledge of health and safety requirements
