SEN Teaching Assistant – Must be Team Teach Trained
Location: Manchester
Salary: £95–£115 per day
Job Type: Full-time, Long-term
Start Date: September 2026
Engage Education are currently recruiting for a Team Teach-trained SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Manchester.
The successful candidate will support pupils with SEN, SEMH, autism, behavioural needs and complex learning difficulties, providing both 1:1 and small-group support.
The Role
* Supporting pupils with additional needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis
* Helping pupils manage behaviour, emotions and engagement
* Implementing individual support strategies and EHCP targets
* Working closely with teachers and the wider SEN team
* Supporting positive behaviour and maintaining a safe learning environment
* Assisting pupils with their academic, social and emotional development
Essential Requirements
* Valid Team Teach training – essential
* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN
* Experience supporting challenging behaviour, SEMH or complex needs
* A patient, resilient and supportive approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils
