Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and professional Workshop Manager to join our client, an award-winning independent automotive service centre based in the Gloucester/Cheltenham region. This is a full-time, permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to lead a busy workshop within a respected and successful business. Benefits of a Workshop Manager: Salary up to £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience 20 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays Full in-house training and development programmes Workplace pension scheme Opportunity to lead a well-established, multi-award-winning company Working hours from 8:00am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, including a half-hour lunch and two tea breaksDuties of a Workshop Manager: Overseeing and managing a team of 3-4 Vehicle Technicians, including scheduling and performance management Providing technical support and problem-solving assistance in the workshop Monitoring workshop activity and liaising with customers on vehicle progress Sourcing and ordering parts to ensure workshop efficiency Completing administrative tasks such as returns, credits, and MOT documentation Covering the service reception when necessary and assisting with customer inquiries Pricing and quoting repair work and associated tasks Supporting the workshop in day-to-day operations and completing ad-hoc duties as requiredRequirements of a Workshop Manager: Proven management or supervisory experience within a busy automotive workshop, ideally including an MOT centre Strong technical ability, demonstrated through a formal qualification or extensive experience as a Vehicle Technician Excellent customer service and communication skills Leadership capacity to motivate and develop a team Proficient IT skills and a valid UK driving license with minimal points Hands-on approach and willingness to engage in workshop activities directlyOur client is seeking a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses technical expertise, and can lead effectively.
