Location: Wood Green, North London
Start: ASAP
Duration: 1 month initially, with potential to extend
Hours: Full-time
Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience
We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated PE Teacher to join a specialist school in Wood Green, working with secondary-aged pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
This is an excellent opportunity for a PE teacher who is passionate about making physical education accessible, engaging and meaningful for pupils with complex learning needs.
You will be working across the school with pupils aged 11-16, adapting PE activities to meet a wide range of individual needs and abilities. Experience working with SEND, PMLD or complex needs would be highly desirable.
The role will involve:
Planning and delivering engaging PE sessions for pupils aged 11-16
Adapting activities to suit individual physical, communication and learning needs
Working closely with teaching assistants and the wider multidisciplinary team
Supporting pupils' physical development, confidence and independence
Creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
Contributing to the wider life of the schoolThe ideal candidate will have:
Qualified Teacher Status or relevant teaching experience
Experience teaching PE within a SEND setting, or a strong willingness to work with specialist learners
A patient, creative and nurturing approach
Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
