R&D Engineer - Embedded Electronics & Firmware
East Sussex
We're looking for an experienced R&D Engineer to join a growing engineering team, helping to develop and enhance a range of embedded electronic products from concept through to production. This is an opportunity to work on innovative technology, contributing across the full product lifecycle within a collaborative R&D environment.
The Role
You'll play a key role in the development of embedded electronic products, working closely with a multidisciplinary engineering team to deliver robust, reliable solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Designing analogue and digital electronic circuits for embedded systems
* Developing embedded firmware in C for microcontroller-based products
* Supporting products throughout their lifecycle, including component selection and obsolescence management
* Modifying mechanical designs where required using CAD
* Developing bespoke product variants to meet customer requirements
* Supporting testing, validation, and continuous product improvement
What We're Looking For
You'll ideally have:
* Experience in embedded electronics product development
* Strong embedded firmware development experience (Embedded C)
* Analogue and digital electronics design experience
* PCB design and schematic capture experience
* Some exposure to mechanical design/CAD
Experience within safety-critical, industrial, communications, or embedded product development would be highly beneficial
