Assistant Site Manager

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join a busy residential housebuilding project in Oxford. This is an excellent opportunity to work with an established housebuilder on a long-term temporary contract, with approximately 18 months remaining on the project. The Role Working closely with the Site Manager, you will assist in the day-to-day management and delivery of a high-quality residential development. You will play a key role in ensuring the project is delivered safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards. Key Responsibilities * Assisting the Site Manager with the daily management of the construction site. * Supervising subcontractors and coordinating daily site activities. * Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations. * Monitoring the quality of work and ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the development. * Managing and coordinating trades to ensure the build programme is maintained. * Carrying out site inspections and reporting progress to the Site Manager. * Assisting with the management of materials, deliveries and site logistics. * Supporting the completion of plots through to handover. * Helping to maintain a clean, organised and professional site environment. * Ensuring all site paperwork and documentation is completed accurately. Requirements The successful candidate will ideally have: * Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager, Site Supervisor or similar role within residential housebuilding. * Experience working on new-build housing developments. * A strong understanding of construction processes and build programmes. * Excellent knowledge of health and safety requirements. * Strong communication and organisational skills. * The ability to manage subcontractors and maintain high-quality standards. * A proactive and hands-on approach to site management. Essential Qualifications * SMSTS or SSSTS * CSCS Card * First Aid at Work * Full UK Driving Licence The Opportunity This is a temporary position offering approximately 18 months of work on an established residential development in Oxford. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work as part of a professional site team on a high-quality housebuilding project.
