Construction Manager | Oxford, Oxfordshire £300 – £350 per day | Freelance / Contract Long-term project | Approx. 2 years remaining Flexible working hours | 9-hour day The Role We are recruiting for an experienced, technically minded Construction Manager to join the delivery team on a major healthcare construction project in Oxford. This is a hands-on site role for someone who understands how buildings go together, can interrogate drawings, identify buildability issues and take ownership of day-to-day construction delivery. You will work closely with the Building Services/M&E, Design and Project Management teams on a highly serviced clinical development with complex construction interfaces. Responsibilities * Manage and coordinate day-to-day construction activities. * Review drawings and identify buildability issues, clashes and installation problems. * Ensure subcontractors work in line with drawings and specifications. * Coordinate construction, M&E and design interfaces. * Manage penetrations, openings, fire stopping and associated details. * Look ahead in the programme and resolve issues before they affect delivery. * Manage Site Managers, Supervisors, subcontractors and site labour. * Chair and contribute to subcontractor and coordination meetings. * Monitor quality, progress, programme and site standards. * Take ownership of allocated areas with minimal supervision. Requirements * Previous Construction Manager or strong Site Manager experience. * Strong technical construction knowledge. * Experience reviewing and coordinating construction drawings. * Good understanding of buildability and construction sequencing. * Experience managing multiple subcontract packages. * Comfortable working closely with M&E and design teams. * SMSTS. * CSCS. * First Aid. * Healthcare, hospital, modular, complex fit-out or heavily serviced building experience would be advantageous.
