Salary: up to £95,000 + company care + benefits
Scope of Work: An exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing to join a leading infrastructure organisation, providing strategic HSW leadership across major highways maintenance operations.

Turner Lovell is currently recruiting for a Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing to join a leading highways and infrastructure organisation. You will provide strategic leadership across Health, Safety and Wellbeing, driving a positive safety culture, ensuring legal compliance and supporting continuous improvement across multiple contracts and operational teams.
Working closely with senior leadership, clients and stakeholders, you will play a key role in embedding best practice, managing risk and ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing.
In this role you will:
Provide visible HSW leadership across multiple operations, projects and contracts
Lead, develop and coach HSW teams, promoting high standards and accountability
Ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations
Oversee audits, inspections, compliance reviews and corrective actions
Lead incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring effective root cause analysis and shared learning
Monitor HSW performance, KPIs and emerging risks to drive continuous improvement
Build strong relationships with clients, senior stakeholders, subcontractors and supply-chain partners
Champion wellbeing and mental health initiatives across the organisation
Support senior management with HSW strategy, business improvement and operational decision-making
Drive best practice, innovation and continuous improvement across HSW systems and processes
The ideal profile is someone who has:
NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 6 or equivalent
Chartered IOSH status (CMIOSH), or working towards it
Significant senior SHEQ/HSW leadership experience across multi-site operations
Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations
Proven experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis
Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
Strong data analysis, reporting and Microsoft 365 skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Strong commercial awareness and the ability to influence senior leadership
