Machine Operator Location: Sparkford, Somerset Competitive Pay – DOE ⏰ Full-Time | 40 Hours Per Week Rotating Shifts – 1 Week Early / 1 Week Late Overtime Available Interaction Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Machine Operator to join our client’s busy manufacturing operation in Sparkford. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience operating Press Brake, CNC Router or Laser machinery who is looking to develop their skills within a fast-paced engineering and production environment. Shift Pattern Early Shift – 1 Week Monday – Thursday: 6:00am – 3:00pm Friday: 6:00am – 12:00pm Late Shift – 1 Week Monday – Thursday: 2:00pm – 11:00pm Friday: 11:00am – 5:00pm The Role As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting and operating a range of machinery, including Press Brakes, CNC Routers and Lasers. You will work with a variety of materials including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium and plastic, ensuring materials are correctly checked for size, thickness and grade. Your responsibilities will include: Setting and operating Press Brake, CNC Router and Laser machinery. Loading and unloading sheet materials and finished cut parts. Using nesting software to optimise material usage. Reading and interpreting technical drawings. Working from Bills of Materials (BOM). Measuring, cutting and inspecting finished parts. Forming and folding sheet metal and plate using a Press Brake. Deburring and finishing components. Sorting finished parts by job and material. Checking completed work against technical drawings and quality standards. Completing relevant production and quality documentation. Carrying out basic machine maintenance procedures. Identifying potential risks and contributing to continuous improvement. Working with colleagues to achieve On-Time Delivery (OTD) targets. Operating other machinery when required. Maintaining excellent Health & Safety standards at all times. ✅ What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have: Previous experience operating Press Brake, CNC Router or Laser machinery. Experience working within an engineering or manufacturing environment. The ability to read and understand technical drawings. Experience using measuring equipment such as verniers, protractors, squares and tape measures. Good problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Knowledge of nesting software would be advantageous. Good communication and teamwork skills. A positive, self-motivated and productive approach to work. The ability to work comfortably in a physically active manufacturing environment. Knowledge of Microsoft Office/365, Sage or CIM50 would also be beneficial, but is not essential. ⭐ Why Apply?
