Learning Support Assistant – SEN
Location: Newbury, Berkshire
Start date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time
Salary: Competitive daily rate
A welcoming primary school in the Newbury area is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated support for a child with physical disabilities and communication needs.
The successful candidate will provide tailored one-to-one support, helping the pupil access learning, communicate effectively and participate fully in school life.
The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience supporting children with SEN
*
Experience supporting physical disabilities
*
Knowledge of AAC devices and communication aids
*
Experience using Makaton and/or finger spelling
*
A patient, caring and encouraging approach
*
The ability to work closely with teachers, parents and external professionals
*
A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Relevant qualifications in education, childcare or SEN would be beneficial, although practical experience is equally important.
