Job Description
makes sure a furniture package goes from client brief → specification → order → delivery → installation, without things falling through the cracks. In a company like Build Generation, the role would likely sit between the design team, client, suppliers, project managers and site team. Typical responsibilities Understand the brief - what furniture the client needs, quantities, budget, style, finishes and deadlines. Furniture specification - prepare schedules showing items, manufacturers, product codes, colours, fabrics, dimensions and quantities. Quotations & procurement - obtain supplier quotes, compare costs, negotiate where appropriate and raise/track purchase orders. Supplier management - liaise with furniture manufacturers and dealers to confirm lead times, production, finishes and delivery dates. Coordinate with the design team - make sure furniture fits the layouts and design intent, and resolve issues such as dimensions or clashes. Coordinate with the construction/project team - ensure furniture delivery and installation works with the wider fit-out programme. Track the project - maintain spreadsheets, budgets, order trackers and delivery schedules. Quality control - check that what arrives is what was specified and deal with damaged, missing or incorrect items. Installation - coordinate installers, delivery access, floor protection, storage and snagging. Client communication - provide updates and flag any risks around cost, availability or programme
