Learning Support Assistant Location: Crofton Park, SE4 Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full Time | Long Term Year Group: Year 3 A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Crofton Park, SE4 is seeking an experienced and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join its team on a full-time, long-term basis, starting ASAP. The successful Learning Support Assistant will work closely with a Year 3 pupil, providing consistent 1:1 and classroom-based support to help them access learning, develop their independence and make positive progress. The pupil has Autism and Developmental Language Delay, so the school is looking for a Learning Support Assistant with previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs. Experience working with Autism, communication difficulties or developmental language needs would be particularly beneficial. The Role - Learning Support Assistant Providing 1:1 and small-group support within a Year 3 classroom Supporting a child with Autism and Developmental Language Delay Helping the pupil access the curriculum and engage positively with learning Supporting communication, social development and independence Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement appropriate strategies Providing a calm, patient and consistent approach to behaviour and learning Building a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil Supporting the wider classroom when required The Ideal Learning Support Assistant The school is looking for a Learning Support Assistant who has previous experience working with children with SEN and is confident supporting pupils with additional needs.
