K.A.G Recruitment Consultancy are partnering exclusively with a successful family-run food business who are looking for a Technical Manager to join their team based at their site in Northampton. Job Title - Technical Manager Location - Northampton (NN3) Package - £75,000 - £85,000 (DOE) Hours - Monday to Friday 7 00am to 5 00pm (flexibility required due to business needs) Key Responsibilities This is a hands-on role, working closely with the owners, production team, customers, suppliers and regulators to ensure products are safe, legal and consistently high quality. * Manage and maintain HACCP, food safety and quality systems. * Ensure compliance with UK food legislation and customer requirements. * Manage audits, inspections, complaints, incidents and corrective actions. * Oversee microbiological testing, trending and food safety investigations. * Manage supplier approval, specifications, traceability and shelf-life validation. * Support and develop a strong food safety and quality culture across the business. * Work closely with production to ensure technical standards are practical and effective. Skills and Experience You will have strong food industry technical experience with a practical, hands-on approach. * Strong HACCP and food safety knowledge. * Good understanding of food microbiology and food safety hazards. * Knowledge of UK food legislation and audits. * Experience of managing technical systems within a food manufacturing environment. Ideally you will have knowledge of BRCGS standards, UK retailer requirements, alongside excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential, together with a proactive leadership approach and excellent attention to detail.
