Embedded Firmware Engineer
Fareham | Hybrid | £50K-£70K + Benefits
We're looking for an experienced Embedded Firmware Engineer to join a highly technical R&D team developing bespoke hardware and firmware solutions for advanced embedded platforms. You'll work across multiple layers of development, from low-level bare-metal programming through to real-time operating environments, with hands-on involvement in hardware bring-up, chip validation, prototyping and product development.
The Role:
* Develop embedded firmware in C
* Work across RTOS and bare-metal environments
* Support hardware bring-up, validation and prototyping
* Debug hardware/software issues using lab equipment
* Develop automated tests and verification tools
* Work closely with hardware and multidisciplinary engineering teams
What We're Looking For
* Strong Embedded C experience
* Strong understanding of serial communication protocols: SPI, I2C, UART
* Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes and logic analysers
* Ability to work from schematics and datasheets
* Ideally exposure to FreeRTOS, MISRA C or low-level protocols
