Assistant Quantity Surveyor – CAT A / CAT B Commercial Fit-Out Location: Central London Sector: Commercial Fit-Out / CAT A / CAT B Project Values: Up to £12m The Role Our client is a well-established commercial fit-out contractor based in Central London, specialising in CAT A and CAT B office fit-out and refurbishment projects across London. With a strong pipeline of work, they are looking to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working within commercial fit-out, with exposure to projects from pre-construction through to final account. Key Responsibilities: * Assist with the commercial management of CAT A and CAT B fit-out projects up to £12m. * Support the Senior QS / Project QS with the day-to-day commercial management of projects. * Assist with the preparation and management of subcontractor packages. * Review and negotiate subcontractor quotations and orders. * Assist with valuations, payment applications and payment notices. * Prepare and manage variations, change control and associated costs. * Assist with the preparation of monthly cost/value reports. * Monitor project costs, budgets and expenditure. * Support the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers. * Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers. The Ideal Candidate: * Previous Quantity Surveying experience within construction is essential. * Ideally 2+ years' experience in a QS / Assistant QS capacity. * Experience working for a commercial fit-out contractor would be highly advantageous. * Experience working on projects £5m + is desirable. * Good understanding of subcontractor procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts. * Proficient in Microsoft Excel and standard commercial/QS software. * Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline would be advantageous.
